In her work, Katharina Barbosa is concerned with feminism, class differences and injustice. Her projects often start with voluntary work and activism. She has worked with various voluntary organizations in Norway. Barbosa bases her artistic work on the experience of working and living together with women who have a difficult, even violent past and a correspondingly complicated future. Barbosa worked with female internally displaced persons and victims of the armed conflict in Colombia, with former fighters from the FARC guerrillas and with female inmates in prisons in Spain and Norway.
